(Fish and Flies)
The water is naturally stocked with brown trout from the two main feeder burns that enter the reservoir. Trout in the 1/2lb to 3/4lb are common and catches of 30 per boat per day are not unusual. Occasionally, larger fish of 1lb and more can be taken. Some days, fish seem to be everywhere on the water but sometimes it goes off and you’d think there was nothing in it ! Hopefully, if you hit the water on a good day, you’ll have a great day fighting those wild Scottish brown trout and you might even hit a big one.
Best flies are the traditional brown trout flies, sizes 12 and 14. Some proven patterns are:
