About the Club
If you’ve ever stood shoulder to shoulder fishing for stocked rainbow trout and wondered where traditional wild brown trout fishing has gone to in Scotland, then you’ve just found it !
The Glen Finglas Wild Brown Trout Fly Fishing Club was established in 2005 and has the sole rights to manage fishings on Glen Finglas Reservoir. We believe we have a unique opportunity to offer public access fishing to a very special place that abounds with nature in stunning surroundings rarely available today.
Glen Finglas reservoir is unique in that it offers at a very modest price, the opportunity to fish this 300 acre water in an area within the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park. By booking two boats and paying a small exclusive use premium, you can have the entire water to your party for the day! The Club are particularly keen to encourage anglers who respect the environment and enjoy the total angling experience of a day in the National Park. We aim to ensure sensibly managed public access but also retain the remoteness element of the experience that makes Glen Finglas so attractive in the first place.
The club are indebted to Awards for All (Scotland) who in 2006 have supported the club in the purchase of two boats and equipment to get us started.
We have two boats for hire which can take a maximum of 3 anglers per boat. We also have a third boat if your party requires 3 boats, however, if you book two boats, we will NOT use the 3rd boat for hire out on your day on the reservoir if you also pay an additional exclusive use premium of £10.
Fishing is from boat only and by fly fishing only. No other source is authorised to offer permits for Glen Finglas reservoir.
Anyone caught fishing at Glen Finglas reservoir without the prior authorisation of Glen Finglas Wild Brown Trout Fly Fishing Club will be reported to the Police.
